Best Venues for Corporate Christmas Parties in Christchurch
23/10/2024
Of the many great things about living in Ōtautahi Christchurch, being able to enjoy some of the longest summer evenings in Aotearoa has to be right up there.
We are also blessed to have some of the country’s top fine-dining options on our doorstep, accompanied by some seriously good wines that make the short journey down from Waipara.
This all amounts to a city that knows how to play Christmas party host, with fine-dining options that showcase seasonal delicacies of the Canterbury plains, to gliding along the River Avon long after the sun has stopped outdoor play in Auckland and Wellington.
So good luck picking your favourite from our top five. Meri Kirihimete me te tau hou!

The Monday Room
Christchurch, Canterbury, South IslandBefore you even enter The Monday Room, the Parisian-style bistro canopy reminds you to ‘Trust the Chef’ and ‘Trust the Somm’. It’s a bold instruction, but one you will not regret following. Owner and Head Chef Hannah Cooper-Grieve puts local Canterbury produce and the region’s underrated wines front and centre. The menu is seasonal, showcasing the freshest huawhenua (veggies) and ethically-sourced beef and lamb from New Zealand’s agricultural capital. There are three stunning private dining options to choose from. The elegant and high-ceiling Duncan’s Room is set away from the buzz of the main restaurant and bar area and caters up to 40 guests. Festive sophistication in the heart of the city.
